Organization details
Your legal name, tax ID, addresses, time zone and fiscal year, and which of them can't be changed later.
Settings > Organization details holds the facts about your organization. Supporters see your display name, contact details and address on their receipts, so it's worth getting right early.
Basic information
- Display name: what supporters see.
- Website.
- Time zone: every date and time in Givable is shown in this zone, so set it to where your team works.
Your supporter portal address (your-organization.impactgifts.cc) is shown here but can't be changed. It was chosen at signup and supporters may already have it. To use your own web address instead, connect a custom domain under Settings > Supporter portal.
Contact
- Support email and Main phone: how supporters and partners reach you.
- Primary contact: who Givable contacts about the account.
- Billing contact: who receives invoices.
Addresses
Two addresses, side by side:
- Legal address: your registered address, tied to your tax ID. This is what appears on tax receipts.
- Mailing address: where post reaches you, and what supporters see.
When they're the same, leave Same as legal on and the mailing address follows the legal one. The relationship only runs one way: legal is the source.
Legal and tax
Three fields lock once set: your legal name, and your EIN or Business Number. Givable can't let you edit them yourself, because receipts have already been issued against them. Email support@givable.com to correct one.
Check them carefully before saving the first time.
Which tax field you see follows the country of your legal address:
- United States: EIN, in the form
XX-XXXXXXX. - Canada: Business Number (BN), in the form
XXXXXXXXX RR0001.
Somewhere else? Givable tells you so and asks you to email support so the right field can be added.
Fiscal year
Set the month and day your fiscal year starts.
Changing your fiscal year re-cuts your history. Every fiscal-year report, year-to-date total and year-end receipt run is bucketed on this date, so figures you have already reported may no longer match. Givable asks you to confirm before it happens.
What isn't here
Your currency. You're paid in whatever currency your Stripe account settles in, and Givable keeps it in sync rather than letting you set a second, possibly conflicting answer. See Connect payments.
