Build your own dashboard

Choose the tiles you care about, arrange them how you like, and share a dashboard with your team.

The home dashboard isn't fixed. You choose which tiles appear, how big they are and where they sit, and you can keep several dashboards for different jobs.

No special permission needed. Your own dashboards are yours to arrange. You'll only see tiles for things you have access to, so a colleague's dashboard may offer different ones.

Arrange your dashboard

Open the cog menu, then Edit dashboard

The dashboard switches into edit mode.

Add what you want

Add widget... offers tiles grouped as Metrics, Tables, Visualizations, Marketing, Content and Custom objects.

Move and resize

Drag a tile to move it. Drag its right edge to make it wider (up to four columns) and its bottom edge to make it taller.

Remove what you don't read

The X on a tile takes it off. This matters more than adding: a dashboard of twenty tiles tells you nothing.

Save

Save keeps the arrangement. Leaving with unsaved edits asks first.

Tiles you can choose from

  • The money: donations, gifts, average gift, recurring revenue, recurring donors, revenue and fees, gift sizes, payment sources.
  • The people: new supporters, total supporters, newest supporters, top donors.
  • Activity: recent donations, top donations, recent activity, my tasks.
  • Over time: giving over time, a giving heatmap, campaign goals.
  • Communications: email health, latest sends, upcoming sends, unsubscribes, texts sent, list signups.
  • Your own data: a Custom list tile showing any object and saved view you choose, with the columns you pick.
  • Message: a note for whoever reads this dashboard.

Many tiles have their own settings: limit one to a single campaign, change how many records it shows, switch a chart between area, line and bar, or group it by source, payment method or currency.

The Message tile is underrated for a shared dashboard. A line like "Gala is 12 days away, chase unnamed seats" is more use to your team than another chart.

The date range applies to everything

The toolbar sets the period for the whole dashboard, from Today through This fiscal year and All time, and compares it against the previous period or last year.

Several dashboards

Create new dashboard... makes another one: a fundraising overview, an events dashboard, a board-meeting view. Switch between them from the picker at the top.

Useful choices on each:

  • Set as my default decides which one opens when you sign in.
  • Share with organization lets your colleagues select it.

A shared dashboard stays yours. Colleagues can look at it and it follows your changes. If they want their own version, they use Clone to edit, which copies it into a dashboard they own.
